Moon Magic
Communion with the moon has existed for as long as both humans and the moon have coexisted. Our ancestors knew the power the moon holds, and watched it as it would bring the tides in and out. Each phase of the moon is seen with a different spiritual significance, as well as each type of moon depending on the time of year.
The moon is not the only performer in this beautiful dance, though. The earth and sun play their own parts as well. The earth is constantly spinning on its axis making a complete 360* turn every 24 hours. This is what gives us night and day. The earth also orbits around the sun, the center of our solar system. The moon orbits around the earth, in its own unique path. It makes a complete cycle about every 29.5 days. The sun also rotates, but very slowly, giving us daylight and moonlight.
The Moon
The moon moves with us – literally. It is the closest astronomical body to earth, giving it a strong influence over us. The entire lunar phase cycle lasts about 29.5 days. The cycle represents its position in the sky and how much of the moon is illuminated by the sun and visible to earth.
In my opinion, the moon is a physical representation of creating a goal and following through with it to completion. It’s an outward reminder to the self that in order to manifest, we need to live and learn through each phase. Each movement in the sky the moon makes marks another meaningful transition from the initial thoughts and plans for our goal, all the way through the actions we do to see our goal coming to fruition. It’s so beautiful to me, and I would love to share my thoughs on this astrological ballet.

The First Quarter Moon is when the first signs of groth begin to show. It is a time of decision making and action. The seeds have been planted and are beginning to bloom. This phase involves adjusting, rapid changes, and focus on the intentions we originally set in the New Moon phase. The blank canvas has been splattered with color, and it is time to blend everything together.
